Dimitris Maramis studied piano and composition in the United Kingdom, going on to become one of the most distinguished musicians of his generation. His career has led to fame in Greece and abroad, with six albums to his credit, 37 theatrical productions and 5 films, as well as collaborations with leading vocal artists and concerts in many countries. At this year’s Sani Festival he will be presenting for the first time in public one of his most important works, the Erotokritos in Blues & Improvisations, a pioneering work based on jazz and blues traditions which grew out of a collaboration with director Stathis livathinos based on the work by vincenzo kornaro. He will be appearing alongside two talented young performers, korina legaki and thodoris voutsikakis, as well as the violinist konstantinos pavlakos.
