During the previous summer (2012) severe problems in the settlement water supply were observed, resulting to the discomfort of many residents. It has proven that the problems were due solely to poor maintenance of the wells and distribution networks.
Our Community proceeded with a detailed examination and recording of all boreholes, water tanks and networks. The findings of our audit were submitted in writing to the Mayor of Cassandra Mr. Vassilios Papagiannis during our meeting with him, held at the City Hall on 08.11.2012. There was a promise that the Mayor will take all necessary steps for cleaning and maintenance in the spring of 2013. Furthermore, he stated his intention to construct an additional drilling since approximately 400 new homes adjacent to our settlement have been added during the last decade, most of which are supplied with water from the same plant. We are looking forward to the completion of this promise.
