Terri Lyne Carrington’s Mosaic Project
A female drummer, the first to have ever won a Grammy Award for “Best Jazz Instrumental Album” and has also worked with some of the greatest musical luminaries, will present her work The Mosaic Project 2, an all-female septet with the unique voice of the renowned Lizz Wright on vocal duties.

The exclusive Jazz Symphony Project is one of the most important moments of this year’s Jazz on the Hill section and concerns a highly interesting collaboration between Terence Blanchard, the acclaimed, award-winning jazz trumpeter, and the exceptional musicians of the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Stefanos Tsialis, a unique encounter of Greek and international artists, a special request of the festival’s artistic director.

‘A’ a Transmedia Cinematic Performance
‘A’ is a transmedia cinematic performance inspired by the ancient myth of Antigone, a post modern version of the Greek ancient drama, directed by the talented Stathis Athanasiou and realized totally through crowd funding resources. ‘A’ is a combination of cinema and ancient drama, where the Actor is replaced by a film and the Chorus is accompanied by the Orchestra, a live string quartet conducted by Stavros Gasparatos.

Russian Short Film Screenings
Cinematic Gems from Today’s Russia.
A collection of Russian short films, by young talented Russian directors, that shows a comprehensive view of life in Russia today, the country of Eisenstein, Μikhalkov, Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy. These short films, screened at the TiSFF – Thessaloniki’s International Short Film Festival, will definitely give you a smile, a laugh or even a tear, and certainly will give you beautiful cinema.

Russian Multimedia Dance Theatre
Τhe Squafts | Κinetic Τheatre of Μoscow.
Directed and choreographed by Sasha Pepelyaev.
The award-winning director and choreographer Sasha Pepelyaev, presents an avant-garde, multi-media dance theatre performance, an audacious evolution of the long tradition of Russian dance, titled SQUAFTS (Square for Temporary Storage 48×9). It is a game of reflections, a spell of the conception and commixture of each moment, a choreography that is vividly transformed by the director into ‘visual’ landscapes that demarcate the field of action.

A collaboration of the ″Mikis Theodorakis″ Orchestra | Vassilis Lekkas, Gerasimos Andreatos, Giota Negka, Sofia Papazoglou.
Two different music worlds come together at this concert: the world of the ″patriarch″ of rembetiko, Vassilis Tsitsanis, and the world of the globally acclaimed composer Mikis Theodorakis, create an enchanting musical web that can at once cause joy and emotion through the performances of some of the most important representatives of Greek music.
