Recycling in our community has commenced! Our association, in cooperation with three recycling companies, collects and forwards to the Recycling Centres paper, PET and PVC, glass bottles, aluminium and tin cans.
There are two recycling stations, easily accessible by car: one is on the main road to Thessaloniki, and the other is in the TYPET area, besides the fire outpost, as depicted on the map by black stars.
There are three kinds of collection bins at the recycling stations: Yellow plastic bins for plastic bottles, metal bins for glass bottles and blue bins for all the rest: cartons of milk aluminum and tin cans, paper.
For easier storage of recyclables in your home, you can collect them in a plastic bag and when reaching the recycling area you can do the sorting of the items there, placing every item in the appropriate bin. Packages should be clean from grease and food (rinse them before putting them in the recycle bag).
Please observe the above rules in order for our recycling system to function properly. The recyclable materials are not garbage, they are marketable items of value. The recycling companies will discontinue the collection if they find inside the bins any items other than those that the Recycle Centre accepts.
